Ryanair, one of Europe's largest low-cost carriers, has suspended ticket sales for flights to Israel until the end of October 2024. As noted earlier, only five destinations to Tel Aviv from Berlin, Vienna, Budapest, Rome, and Paphos will be available after this date, while booking for the remaining 21 destinations is temporarily unavailable.

However, the low-cost airline has announced the resumption of flights to Israel starting June 3. The airline will operate seven routes from various European airports. This was reported by avianews.com.

We will tell you exactly where you can fly to Israel from - further in the article.

Ryanair resumes flights to Israel: what is known

The airline plans to operate 40 weekly flights to Israel on seven routes from Germany, Hungary, Italy, Greece, Cyprus, and Malta. Among them will be flights to Tel Aviv from Berlin, Budapest, Athens, Milan, Bari, and Paphos.

The resumption of flights was made possible thanks to an agreement with Ben Gurion Airport to open Terminal 1 for low-cost airlines. This will reduce passenger fees.

Terminal 1 of Tel Aviv Airport was closed in October 2023 due to the difficult situation in the country and the decline in air traffic. All flights were served in the main terminal 3, where higher fees were charged.

As you know, Ryanair resumed flights to Tel Aviv in February 2024, but canceled them a few weeks later due to higher airport fees.

"Ryanair wants to support Ben Gurion Airport and the resumption of air travel to Israel, but we cannot do so if the airport keeps Terminal 1 closed and demands that we move our flights to the expensive Terminal 3, raising fees that we have never approved," the company explained.

While another European low-cost airline, Wizz Air, did not cancel flights to Israel because of the service in the expensive terminal, it included all additional costs in the ticket price for its passengers.
