EU airport lifts restrictions on transportation of liquids on airplanes: new rules

One of the European Union's airports has decided to make traveling easier by lifting restrictions on the transportation of liquids on the plane. This means that travelers are now almost unlimited in the amount of liquids they can take with them in their carry-on luggage. Learn more about the updated rules

For nearly twenty years, passengers at airports around the world have been required to discard liquids from their carry-on luggage if they exceeded 100 ml, citing security concerns. However, Tallinn Airport has announced the abolition of these restrictions due to new equipment in the control area. This was reported by avianews.com.

You can buy train, bus, or plane tickets to Ukraine and between cities around the world, as well as view timetables and compare prices through Visit Ukraine's convenient booking service. The website has a bonus points system that allows you to travel much cheaper.

Another airport in Europe has lifted strict restrictions on the transportation of liquids on an airplane

Estonia's main airport now has new US-based 920CT scanners from Rapiscan Systems, which use medical computed tomography technology, at the entrance to the departure area.

This allows passengers to take an unlimited amount of liquids in containers of up to 2 liters, as long as they meet the airline's carry-on baggage allowance.

Now, when traveling from Tallinn Airport, there is no need to buy water or drinks in the Duty Free shop before boarding, as it can be done in the supermarket at regular prices.

In addition, the new scanners have simplified the rules by not requiring liquids and electronics to be taken out for separate control before boarding the plane.

However, it is worth remembering that most airports in Europe still have the old rules, so if you are crossing the border, it is better to check the conditions for the transportation of liquids on the website of a particular airport.

Today, the list of exceptions includes Vantaa Airport in Helsinki and Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam. They, like Tallinn, have already simplified the rules and installed the latest hand luggage scanners based on computed tomography.
