The Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine, Oksana Zholnovych, has announced the introduction of a government program called "A Child is Not Alone." The official made the announcement on the air of the United News telethon.
Here's who can get help and how much money will be paid.
New child benefit program in Ukraine: who will receive it
Starting in April 2024, children who have lost their parents but do not have the status of orphans or children deprived of parental care will receive financial assistance.
Financial support will be provided to persons who have temporarily taken such children into care, including relatives, friends, and families or family-type orphanages.
The money will be allocated to provide the necessary conditions and care for these children.

How much will they pay?
According to Zholnovych, under this program, persons who have taken in children deprived of parental care will receive financial payments in the amount of UAH 6.4 thousand to UAH 11.19 thousand.
The amount of the payment will depend on the age of the child and will range from UAH 6,407 to UAH 8,000. If the child has a disability, the amount will be from UAH 8970 to UAH 11,190.
According to the government's decision, during the war, large families had the opportunity to temporarily take in such children, but did not receive financial support for them. However, according to Zholnovych, this situation has been corrected, and now the assistance will be granted until the child receives the appropriate legal status.
According to the Ministry of Social Policy, more than 13,000 children have been left without parental care since the start of the full-scale invasion.
We remind you! Citizens of Ukraine will be able to apply for financial support. Those who meet the established criteria can receive the amount of UAH 10,800. Find out more about who can receive the funds and how to register.
