What is the reason for the rise in prices?
Yuriy Lupenko, Director of the National Research Center "Institute of Agrarian Economics," emphasizes that the increase in the cost of the Easter basket is clearly due to the consequences of the hostilities - serious material and financial losses in the country's economy and in Ukrainian families, a decrease in production, higher energy prices, difficulties in domestic transportation of products, and even uncertainty of many people in their plans for the future.
He also adds that this is especially noticeable in the armed conflict zones, temporarily occupied territories, and among a large number of displaced persons.
Thus, most Ukrainians will be forced to save on the traditional set of products.
