In May 2024, the Mezhyhiria Park will open its doors to visitors. The official opening date will be announced later. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine.

As you know, in August 2023, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law on the creation of a park-monument of landscape art of national importance on the territory of the former Mezhyhiria residence, where former President Viktor Yanukovych used to live.

In April 2024, the Cabinet of Ministers issued a decree that provided legal conditions for the transfer of the Mezhyhirya property to the new administration. Currently, this territory is part of the nature reserve fund of Ukraine.

It is emphasized that this status is assigned to the most outstanding and valuable park construction sites. For example, Feofaniya and Mariinsky parks in Kyiv, Stryiskyi Park in Lviv, etc. have this status.

The funds raised from ticket sales and other services at Mezhyhiria will be directed to the state budget, especially to finance the Armed Forces.

"A special administration of Mezhyhiria has already been set up to take care of all the necessary documents. After the official opening of the park, all funds from Mezhyhiria's work will go to the state budget, and, accordingly, to finance our Armed Forces," the statement said.

According to First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Oleksandr Krasnolutskyi, the transfer of Mezhyhiria Park to state management is not only an important environmental step that will permanently ensure the return of land to state ownership, contribute to the preservation of particularly valuable lands and biodiversity, but will also help increase state budget revenues.

"Mezhyhiria Park-Monument has been practically building its work from the very beginning. This includes the organization of land plots in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine, keeping records of plants, animals and equipment in the park, as well as creating new areas for mass outdoor recreation. In May, Mezhyhiria will open its doors for the first official tourist season for all visitors," emphasized the park's administration.
