The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGS) reported that men are allowed to travel abroad only with paper military registration documents. Electronic versions of the documents are not accepted. This was stated by Andriy Demchenko, assistant head of the SBGS and spokesperson for the agency, during the telethon "United News".

According to the current legislation, only representatives of territorial recruitment centers (TSCs) have the right to determine the grounds for the delay and issue the relevant documents. "Border guards will not accept electronic versions of documents, including the Reserve+ service. We need a paper military registration document. It is also important to check the availability of information about yourself in the Oberig system," emphasized Demchenko.

Age restrictions and document checks at border crossings

Starting from the 18th, border guards will check the availability of military registration documents for male citizens of Ukraine aged 18 to 60. This category of citizens must have a passport and a military registration document and present them when crossing the border.

This rule also applies to men booked for wartime, unfit for service for health reasons, men with three children under 18, and men whose wives are in the military.

Exceptions to the rules

Demchenko said that border guards do not check military registration documents of people with disabilities, people accompanying people with disabilities, those transporting humanitarian goods, drivers of international transportation and representatives of the railway, maritime and aviation industries.

Possible changes to the rules

Currently, there are no other changes to the border crossing rules. However, Demchenko noted that changes to the government decree regulating the border crossing procedure for Ukrainian citizens may soon be made. "When these changes occur, we will inform you," he added.

We remind you! Certain categories of men have the right to cross the border freely during martial law. Read our previous article to find out which men have the right to travel abroad in 2024 and what documents they need to have.
