E-tickets in public transport across Ukraine: what is known

According to the draft law, an electronic ticket in urban electric and road transport will have the same legal force as a paper ticket.

"The Ministry has already prepared a draft Order on a new ticket form, because the current form in Ukraine is a legacy of the Soviet past, both in form and content. It is important that the adopted draft law not only regulates our powers as a Ministry to develop the form of an electronic ticket, but also allows us to fully work on the introduction of a single electronic ticket for several types of transport,” said Deputy Minister of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Serhiy Derkach.

Central executive authorities must ensure and implement electronic travel documents in public transport in cities.

Today, electronic tickets have already been introduced in a number of cities: Kyiv, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Lutsk, Lviv, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, Uzhhorod, Khmelnytsky, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, Odesa, Kharkiv, Dnipro, and Zaporizhzhia.

We remind you!
As of the beginning of 2024, more than 210 thousand vehicles were damaged or destroyed in Ukraine as a result of the war unleashed by Russia. In this regard, the country wants to introduce compensation for car owners whose cars have been damaged as a result of the war. Read more about how the mechanism will work.
