The Ukrainian parliament has registered draft law No. 11147, which provides for compensation to car owners for damage and destruction of cars as a result of hostilities, terrorist acts, and sabotage caused by russian aggression.

How do they want to pay compensation?

As the draft law is still under consideration, the exact mechanism of payment has not yet been established. However, it is already assumed that the process will be similar to the “eRestoration” programme. The procedure will involve submitting an electronic application through the Diia portal or a paper application through the ASC, filling in the necessary data, and providing photos and videos confirming the fact of damage or destruction of the car.

All information will be entered into the State Register of Property Damaged as a Result of Hostilities, Terrorist Attacks or Sabotage Caused by russia's Military Aggression. After the decision is made, the user will receive a notification indicating the next steps.

A special commission will determine the amount of compensation individually based on the data received. In case of a positive answer, the funds will be credited to the bank account of the owner of the damaged car.

Who can apply?

Both legal entities and individuals, as well as their heirs or successors, will be able to apply.

Compensation will be available for damaged and destroyed buses, trucks, cars, trailers, and semi-trailers.

The draft law also stipulates that the sources of funding for payments for damaged and destroyed vehicles should be the "Fund for the Restoration of Property and Destroyed Infrastructure in Connection with the Armed Aggression of the russian federation", international financial assistance, reparations from the russian federation or other sources not prohibited by Ukrainian law.

We remind you! Obtaining compensation after an accident when the culprit does not have a motor third party liability insurance policy can be a difficult task, but there are certain steps that can help you get the money. Here is the correct algorithm of actions in such a situation.
