Currently, Ukrainians abroad can update their military registration data through the "Reserve+" application or by visiting a diplomatic mission (embassy or consulate of Ukraine) in person. In addition, as explained by lawyer Igor Barannikov in an interview with Yuriy Romanenko, political expert and editor-in-chief of the Khvylya portal, updating data at the Territorial Recruitment Centers (TRCs) for Ukrainians abroad is also possible without returning to Ukraine. We will tell you how to do this in the article below.

How do I send documents to the TRC from abroad?

Ukrainians who are outside the country now often face the need to update their data in the TRC. One of the main requirements is the personal delivery of documents to the center. But what about those who are physically unable to do so?

Ihor Barannikov explained that it is possible to transfer documents through a third party or send them by mail, even if the official regulations state that personal attendance is required. This possibility was confirmed by the decision of the Supreme Court, which noted that "personally delivering documents" can be interpreted as sending them by mail after signing.

What documents should be prepared?

Before sending documents, you need to prepare supporting documents, such as:

– Documents confirming the change of personal data (if any) and the person's place of residence.

– Certificate of disability of a child, certificate of large family status (if any), or any other documents confirming your status (deferment, etc.).
– Documents confirming the person's military ranks, as well as medical certificates of health.

The procedure for sending documents by mail

1. Preparation of documents: Sign all the necessary documents and make copies of them.

2. Sending: Send the documents by registered mail with acknowledgment of receipt to the address of the relevant TRC.

3. Keeping copies: Be sure to keep copies of the documents sent and the receipt of sending.

Remember that Ukrainians who are abroad have the opportunity to update their data in the TRC without the need to come to Ukraine in person. Using a third party or sending documents by mail are legal ways to submit the required documents, which is confirmed by the decision of the Supreme Court. At the same time, similar rules apply to those who are in Ukraine, which means that anyone can submit documents to the TRC without a personal visit.

We remind you that the deadline for updating military registration data expires in less than two weeks. Read everything Ukrainians need to know in this article.
