Kyiv is a fairly popular tourist destination. Who doesn't know Mariinsky Park, Khreshchatyk, Independence Square and other locations? However, Kyiv impresses every tourist not only with its most famous sights. Restaurants, greenhouses, a huge number of bookstores and coffee shops, museums and memorials welcome everyone who wants to get to know the city better. Visit Ukraine's editorial team has watched a video by You Tube blogger Masha Sebova and brings to your attention the TOP 6 places Masha recommends to visit in Kyiv this autumn. Her opinion is worth listening to, as the blogger has been living in the capital for over 12 years! Read more in the article.

The Golden Gate

Masha Sebova says that Yaroslaviv Val Street is currently the most popular street in Kyiv. ‘Over the past few years, the number of tourists has increased significantly, so Kyiv residents walk near the Golden Gate - Lypynskyi and Ivan Franko. They are very beautiful and cosy.

Everyone can visit the Golden Gate location during an individual tour from Visit Ukraine. During the trip, you will also be able to visit the Opera House and the most famous churches of old Kyiv.

Lipa Restaurant

On Lypynskoho Street, there is a small, cosy place called Lipa. The blogger says she visits it most often because the atmosphere is very pleasant. The place is located in the basement, so it is actually a comfortable shelter. Regular customers here know each other, know the menu and their favourite places. The menu changes and is updated periodically, but the visitors' favourite dishes remain. All in all, Lipa is definitely a place to visit.

You can findmore interesting places in the capital here. Kyiv is truly a paradise for foodies.

Kyiv cycle track

If you walk to the end of Lypynskoho Street, you will see the most popular place for young people to gather - the Kyiv Velotrek. It was abandoned for a long time, but in 2017 it was reconstructed and became quite famous. Masha Sebova considers it one of the capital's business cards and recommends paying attention to the unique bronze cyclist figurine. The figurine was created as part of the ‘Shukai’ project led by Yulia Bevzenko: dozens of bronze figurines are scattered all over Kyiv, so finding them is a real quest.

Extreme sports enthusiasts can go not only to the cycle track, as Visit Ukraine offers a unique opportunity for everyone to go down to the underground Kyiv, which is still being explored.

Kyiv Funicular

The funicular is located relatively close to the Golden Gate. The blogger recommends using it on weekdays - it costs only 8 UAH, and the experience is incredible! The funicular runs along the slope of Volodymyrska Hill and connects the Upper Town with Podil. The construction lasted from 1902 to 1905, and the structure itself is the second oldest in the history of Ukraine after the similar one in Odesa.

Anyone who wants to see other wonders of Volodymyr's Hill and hear old legends about Kyivan Rus can join the Kyiv Invincible tour and touch history with their own hands.

Zhytniy Market

The Zhytniy Market is the oldest of the officially operating markets in Kyiv, but trade has been conducted at this place at all times - even during the existence of Kyivan Rus. Masha Sebova did not visit the market alone, but with Yevhen Klopotenko, the chief gastronomic ambassador of Ukraine. He says that Zhytniy Market is a mental value for Kyiv residents, because it has always been there: you are born - it is there, you live all your life - it is still there. Residents of other cities can come here upon arrival in Kyiv - the Podil bus station is very close by. At the moment, Zhytniy Market is undergoing renovation - Yevhen Klopotenko himself is in charge of this. The market hosts events and fairs that attract the attention of locals and tourists alike.

Restaurant ‘100 Years Ago Forward’

‘100 Years Ago Forward’ is a modern Ukrainian restaurant in the centre of Kyiv owned by Yevhen Klopotenko. The owner set out to prove that Ukrainian cuisine is not as simple as it seems at first glance. All the dishes in the restaurant are also simple, but there is a great variety of them. ‘100 Years Ago Forward’ confidently demonstrates the ability of Ukrainian cuisine to compete with European cuisine and become one of the most popular in the world.

Team motto: ‘We went back in time to change the future’.

The concept of the restaurant is that all ingredients, including spices, should be typical for Ukrainian lands and grown on this territory.
