A short-term visa (type C) is a permit document that entitles foreigners to stay in Ukraine for up to 90 days within 180 days. Such visas can be single-entry, double-entry or multiple-entry, which allows you to plan your trips according to your needs.

Types of short-stay visas to Ukraine


There are seven main categories of short-term visas in Ukraine:


1. C-01 (business) - for business trips and participation in business events

2. С-02 (private) - for visiting relatives or friends

3. C-03 (official) - for official visits

4. C-06 (tourist) - for traveling for leisure purposes

5. C-07 (treatment) - for medical services

6. C-10 (religious) - for religious activities

7. C-16 - to participate in the elimination of the consequences of emergencies

Documents required to apply for a short-term visa to Ukraine


The basic package includes the following documents:


● A completed visa application form

● A color photo of 35x45 mm in size

● Valid foreign passport

Health insurance policy

● Confirmation of the purpose of the trip and financial support


Basic requirements for a passport document


To obtain a visa, you must have a valid passport that meets the following criteria:


● Validity period - at least 3 months after the planned date of departure from Ukraine

● At least two blank pages for the visa

● The total validity of the passport should not exceed 10 years


Medical insurance


It is a mandatory requirement to have health insurance with coverage of at least EUR 30,000. The insurance policy must be valid for the entire period of stay in Ukraine.


Financial guarantees


The applicant must prove his/her solvency in one of the following ways:


● A bank statement for the last two months (minimum 50 USD per day of stay)

● Letter of guarantee from the host country

Peculiarities of submitting documents


For foreigners who do not live in their country of citizenship, additional requirements apply - they must have a valid temporary or permanent residence permit to apply for a visa at the Ukrainian embassy in the country of residence. At the same time, EU citizens enjoy a simplified procedure for submitting documents and are not subject to this rule.

Visa application timeframe


Depending on the chosen method, a visa can be obtained:


● Under the urgent procedure - up to 5 business days

● Under the standard procedure - up to 10 working days

● In case of additional checks, the term can be extended up to 30 working days
