New opportunities for women: the state will pay for training in more than 30 professions
Ukraine is launching a state program to provide free training for women in professions traditionally dominated by men. Find out how to get a new specialty at public expense and get a guaranteed job in a promising industry
Ukraine is launching a new project that will allow women to master professions traditionally dominated by men for free. The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine offers training at public expense with subsequent employment.
What professions are available for training
As part of the project, women will be able to obtain qualifications in various fields. Among the available professions:
– Tram, trolleybus, and forklift driver
– Operator of programmed machine tools
– Milling machine operator
– Renewable energy systems installation and maintenance technician
– Other technical specialties
Conditions of participation in the project
The program's peculiarity is that the training is conducted at the request of the employer. The process is organized as follows:
1. The employer applies to the employment center
2. The future specialist independently chooses an educational institution from the proposed list
3. After completing the training, the employer undertakes to employ the graduate.

Financing of education
The state has provided substantial financial support for program participants:
– The Employment Center covers the cost of training up to UAH 30,280 (equal to ten subsistence minimums).
– If the cost of training exceeds this amount, the difference can be paid by the employer or the project participant herself.
Benefits for business and society
According to Yulia Svyrydenko, Minister of Economy of Ukraine, the project has a double benefit. “Women will be able to master more than 30 professions at public expense, including the most popular among employers. Businesses will be able to train the necessary specialists, the lack of which they are now acutely aware of,” the minister emphasized.
We remind you! Due to the mobilization and departure of citizens abroad, Ukraine has faced an acute shortage of personnel, especially in professions that were popular among men. In order to somehow reduce the shortage of employees, companies began to attract women to such employment. Read what “male” professions are gradually being taken over by women and where the shortage is greatest in our previous article.
