The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine has announced that key registries have been restored after a large-scale cyberattack by russia. Here's a look at what functions have already been restored.

Which registers are back online?

The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine has restored the operation of three key notary registers:

- The Unified Register of Powers of Attorney;

- The Register of Wills;

- The Unified Register of Special Forms of Notarial Documents.

‘From now on, notaries can fully register powers of attorney, wills and inheritance cases, as well as check special forms,’ the Ministry of Justice said in a statement.

What will happen to notarial acts performed during the failure of the registers?

All notarial acts performed in the absence of access to the registers will be recorded within 5 business days.

In addition, the Ministry of Justice assured that it has implemented enhanced cyber security measures.

As for other registers, they are still working on their opening.

Cyberattack on registries

More than a week ago, Ukraine suffered a large-scale cyberattack that led to the blocking of dozens of state registers.

This, in particular, made it impossible to conclude real estate transactions, register businesses and perform other notarial acts. The cyber attack also caused problems with the databases of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

Representatives of the Ministry of Justice and law enforcement agencies assure that there was no data leakage. All actions in the registers are automatically recorded, which makes it impossible to illegally seize property due to limited access to the registers.

At the same time, the authorities stated that it could take up to two weeks to restore the registers.

We remind you! Earlier, the State Register of Pets was launched in Ukraine.
