Vehicle rejection: How to deregister a damaged or lost vehicle

As a result of hostilities, many Ukrainian vehicles were damaged or destroyed. However, such cars remain registered with the owner, and therefore they must be deregistered.
How to do it?
The press service of the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports that for Ukrainians whose vehicles have been damaged or completely destroyed as a result of hostilities, a vehicle culling service is available.
What does it mean? If your car is completely burned, damaged, and no longer suitable for use, or is in the occupied territory - you must contact the nearest service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with a package of documents and fill out an application.
List of documents:
• an identity document of the owner or his legal representative;
• TIN of the applicant;
• vehicle registration certificate (if available);
• license plates (if available);
The service is provided during the working day from the moment of submitting the documents and is free of charge.
You can get a refusal in case of providing an incomplete package of documents, inconsistency of the car number with the data provided in the application, as well as if the vehicle is wanted or under arrest.
Please note that it is not possible to restore vehicle registration after culling.
