That is why Ukraine has launched the Warmth and Recovery for Kyivites social initiative, which brings together hotels that are ready to provide a safe space for temporary accommodation. The program provides a 20% discount on accommodation and is valid only during periods of power outages. This is not an advertising campaign, but a format of solidarity between businesses and citizens. The program is valid only during blackouts and is aimed at supporting Kyiv residents, not at making a profit.

What is the Heat and Recovery for Kyiv residents initiative?

“Warmth and Recovery for Kyivans” is a social initiative launched by the Ukrainian Hotel and Resort Association (UHRA) together with Visit Ukraine in response to regular energy blackouts and the growing psychological burden on Kyiv residents. Its goal is not to promote services or a classic marketing campaign, but to provide real support to people at a time when basic living and working conditions are becoming unavailable.

As part of the program, participating hotels provide Kyiv residents with the opportunity to temporarily move to a space with heat, light, water, stable internet and the necessary services to recuperate or continue working. Accommodation is provided with a special social discount, and the initiative is valid only for the period of blackouts.

The project is being implemented as a joint position of the hotel community and Visit Ukraine, a reliable travel platform that provides centralized communication, booking and information for program participants. That is why the initiative is being presented publicly with a clear message: this is not a commercial offer, but a form of solidarity and support in a difficult time for the city.

What conditions do Kyiv residents receive?

As part of the initiative, Kyiv residents can take advantage of a -20% social discount on accommodation at participating hotels. It was introduced specifically for the period of energy blackouts and is designed to make temporary stays in comfortable conditions more affordable.

Staying in these hotels provides basic resources that are critical during blackouts: stable electricity, heating, hot water, internet connection and workspace.
