Ukrzaliznytsia has restricted traffic between Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia due to the security situation
Rail service between Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia has been temporarily changed due to the security situation in the region. Find out which trains are running on detour routes, how transfers are organized, and what passengers need to know
Ukrzaliznytsia has been forced to restrict train traffic between Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia due to security threats to the railway infrastructure. The reason for this was attacks on railway facilities and the detection of enemy drones near train routes. This was reported by the carrier's press service.
The company notes that damage to the railway infrastructure has been recorded in certain areas. At the same time, thanks to the restrictions on movement introduced in advance, it was possible to avoid casualties among passengers and railway employees.
Which routes are restricted and how is traffic organized
The restrictions apply to the connection between Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia, one of the key routes in the region. To ensure passenger safety and minimize delays, Ukrzaliznytsia, together with the military administrations of Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia, quickly organized replacement bus transfers.
In particular, passengers on trains No. 37/38 Kyiv-Zaporizhzhia and No. 85/86 Lviv-Zaporizhzhia are traveling to the stations of Synelnykove and Zaporizhzhia via a detour, which is a safer route. In problematic areas, they are transported by buses, which allows maintaining connections between cities even in threatening conditions.
Ukrzaliznytsia urges passengers to closely follow the latest information. This primarily refers to announcements at stations, messages from train crews, and push notifications in the official UZ app. This is where updates on changes to routes, transfers, or arrival times appear the fastest.

Ukrzaliznytsia is currently stepping up its monitoring of air threats along its routes and is working in close coordination with the military and local administrations.
The carrier emphasizes that passenger safety remains a priority, even if this requires temporary changes in logistics and timetables.
