Which cars were most often imported to Ukraine in February: popular brands and market trends

Imports of used cars to Ukraine at the beginning of 2026 show a noticeable decline in activity. At the same time, the structure of demand is gradually changing: Ukrainians are increasingly choosing more expensive and better-equipped cars, and brands with internal combustion engines are once again dominating the market. This is reported by experts from the Automotive Market Research Institute.

How many cars were imported into Ukraine?

In February 2026, 14,156 used passenger cars imported from abroad were registered in Ukraine. Compared to the previous month, imports fell by 16.8%, and compared to February 2025, by 19.9%.

One of the main reasons for the decline in imports was the abnormally high activity at the end of 2025. In December last year, demand for electric cars rose sharply due to expected changes in tax legislation. As a result, their share among imported cars reached a record 60.1%. However, in February 2026, the situation changed: the share of electric cars among imported cars fell to 5.7%.

Analysts explain that the current figures represent a return of the market to its normal level after a period of frenzied demand and supply shortages.

The most popular brands and models of imported cars

In terms of the structure of imported cars, Ukrainians traditionally prefer European brands, especially German manufacturers. Volkswagen remains the leader in terms of registrations. Audi and BMW also significantly strengthened their positions in February. One of Audi's crossovers became particularly popular, even surpassing the traditional leaders in the segment in terms of registrations. In addition to German brands, Japanese and American manufacturers maintain stable positions in the market. These include Nissan and Ford.

Another important trend is the growing popularity of crossovers and SUVs. SUVs (compact and mid-size crossovers) occupy the leading positions in the model ranking. At the same time, traditional models such as the Volkswagen Golf and Skoda Octavia remain among the most popular cars, but their share is gradually decreasing.

The situation in the premium car segment

The luxury car segment is also seeing a decline in activity. In February 2026, Ukraine registered: 1 Bentley, 1 Ferrari, 2 Lamborghinis, 3 Maseratis, and 62 Porsches.
