On the third day, the itinerary heads to the mountains—the rock fortress in Urych, a chairlift ride up Mount Vysokyi Verkh in Volosyanka, and a waterfall in Kamianets.

A tour of Transcarpathia’s castles and Mukachevo: history, legends, and architecture

A one-day tour from Uzhhorod covers several of the region’s most impressive castles. The journey begins at the ruins of Serednyansky Castle—a former outpost of the Knights Templar—continues through the historic center of Mukachevo and the legendary Palanok Castle, and then leads to the 15th-century “St. Miklos” Castle of Love in Chynadiyevo and the hunting castle of the Counts of Schönborn, featuring neo-Romantic architecture, an ancient arboretum, and a lake with swans.
