Ukrzaliznytsia has launched online ticketing for commuter trains in 7 more regions: how to use it?

The purchase of tickets for commuter trains in Ukraine is gradually shifting to a digital format. From now on, passengers in western regions can book their tickets without waiting in lines or visiting ticket offices—simply through a mobile app. This was announced by the Ukrzaliznytsia press service on its Telegram channel.

Online tickets are now available in seven more regions

Ukrzaliznytsia has expanded the functionality of its mobile app, adding the ability to purchase tickets for commuter trains in several more regions. Lviv, Volyn, Ternopil, Rivne, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia, and Chernivtsi regions have joined the list of areas where this option is already available.

How do I buy a commuter train ticket in the app?

The purchase process is as simple as possible and takes only a few minutes. To book a ticket:

1. Download the Ukrzaliznytsia mobile app.

2. Go to the “Suburban” section.

3. Select the departure station and destination.

4. Book and pay for the ticket.

After that, the ticket is saved on your phone—you can present it during inspection without a printed copy.

Tip: For planning more complex routes—such as those with transfers or international travel—it’s convenient to use unified platforms. Visit Ukraine offers a ticket booking system for all modes of transport, allowing you to compare options and choose the best route in one place.
