Fuel prices in Ukraine are falling: how much do gasoline and diesel cost?
The global market for petroleum products is setting new terms, and Ukrainian gas stations are finally adjusting their prices. Gasoline and diesel prices are falling in line with European market rates, despite pressure from exchange rate fluctuations. Check the current prices at your favorite gas stations
Ukrainian drivers can finally see positive trends on gas station price boards: retail chains have begun to gradually lower fuel prices. This is reported by Finance.ua. Global trends toward lower oil prices have reached our market, although operators are in no hurry to immediately lower prices, adjusting them with noticeable caution.
Why are gasoline and diesel getting cheaper in Ukraine?
The main driver of the current price drop is a significant decline in prices on global and European wholesale markets. In mid-April 2026, the average price of gasoline in Europe fell by more than 3 hryvnias per liter, and diesel fuel by as much as 10.4 hryvnias.
Following Europe, domestic wholesale prices in Ukraine also fell. According to data from the A-95 Consulting Group, the wholesale price of diesel fell by nearly 5 hryvnias (to 83.51 UAH/L), and that of A-95 gasoline—by nearly 1 hryvnia (to 66.24 UAH/L). Wholesale prices for autogas also fell by approximately 1.6 UAH/liter.
However, a full-scale collapse of prices at gas stations is being prevented by currency fluctuations. Over the past week, the dollar exchange rate rose to 44.12 UAH, and the euro to 51.87 UAH. This exchange rate pressure “eroded” part of the potential discount, adding between 0.57 and 1.1 hryvnia to the cost of each liter. That is why the retail sector is responding to global trends more slowly than consumers would like.
Which gas stations have the biggest price cuts?
Instead of synchronized price changes, gas station chains have opted for an individual approach to discounts. The clear leader in terms of price reductions is the Chipo chain, where the price of diesel dropped by 2.45 UAH, and gasoline fell by a significant 4.28 UAH per liter.
Major national operators, such as OKKO and WOG, also accommodated drivers by lowering prices by 2 hryvnias per liter of diesel fuel and by 1 hryvnia for gasoline. KLO, UPG, and Parallel stations showed similar trends regarding heavy fuel. The Ukrnafta network lowered the price of diesel by one hryvnia, although a slight increase was still recorded on a weekly basis. As for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), prices are falling selectively, with discounts found primarily in the mid- and low-price segments.
How much do gasoline, diesel, and LPG cost today?
As of the end of the second ten-day period of April 2026, the market shows the following picture of average prices across Ukraine. Regular A-95 gasoline costs drivers 72.71 UAH/liter, while its premium version, A-95+, costs an average of 76.50 UAH/liter.
The average price per liter of diesel fuel stands at 89.92 UAH. Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is selling for an average of 48.99 UAH/liter.
Looking at specific chains, at premium gas stations (OKKO, WOG, SOCAR), A-95 gasoline costs between 74.90 and 75.90 UAH, while diesel costs around 90.76–91.90 UAH. More affordable prices are offered by stations such as Avantage 7, BRSM-Nafta, or SUNOIL, where A-95 can be purchased for 69.95–70.95 UAH/liter, and diesel costs 88.38–90.20 UAH.

Will fuel prices drop in the near future?
Experts from the industry publication enkorr note that the Ukrainian market has significant potential for further reductions in fuel prices. Retail chains have already restored a comfortable spread between wholesale purchases and retail sales at gas stations: it currently exceeds 6.4 UAH/liter for gasoline and diesel, and over 7 UAH for autogas.
The main factor currently preventing a more drastic drop in prices remains the high cost of old stockpiles at oil depots and the chains’ desire to compensate for the low margins of previous periods. However, if the situation on global exchanges stabilizes and prices continue to creep downward without new geopolitical upheavals, most domestic gas station chains will be forced to continue adjusting their price tags in favor of Ukrainian drivers.
