The terminal may offer to charge in dollars or euros - and this looks convenient, but in reality it almost always means a less favorable exchange rate. Therefore, a simple rule is this: always choose payment in hryvnias. This allows you to avoid hidden overpayments.

Also, when withdrawing cash or paying by card, additional commissions may apply:

- ATM commission (sometimes fixed);

- Your bank's commission (2–4%).

When is cash really necessary in Ukraine?
