The Kyiv School of Economics has announced the launch of the “Come Back Home” grant program for Ukrainians who found themselves abroad after the start of the full-scale war but are considering returning to Ukraine. The program is designed for 50 students in the 2026–2027 academic year and combines financial support with educational, psychological, and professional assistance.

For many Ukrainian families who left after February 24, 2022, the question of returning remains extremely complex—it involves not only safety but also figuring out where to study, where to find work, who to connect with, and whether there will even be a community.

What the grant includes: full tuition and a startup stipend

The Come Back Home grant covers the full cost of tuition for one year, with the possibility of renewal. But the support doesn’t stop there. Program participants also receive:

● a one-time starting stipend of 60,000 hryvnias;

● health insurance;

● psychological support—an important component for those returning after a long stay abroad;

● mentorship—guidance from experienced professionals;

● access to internships and employment opportunities at Ukrainian companies.

Separately, KSE highlights a practical detail: the university campus is equipped with a shelter and has its own power supply. For students and families who value not only the quality of education but also real-world safety and living infrastructure, this is a key factor.

Who can apply?

The program covers two categories of applicants.

● The first category consists of Ukrainians who were forced to leave the country after February 24, 2022, currently reside outside Ukraine, and wish to return specifically to study at KSE.

● The second category includes applicants who considered applying to universities abroad but ultimately decided to stay and study in Ukraine.

Applicants to bachelor’s and master’s programs are eligible to apply.

What majors are available?

The list of fields of study covers a wide range:

● Economics

● Law

● Psychology

● software engineering

● cybersecurity

● artificial intelligence

● urban studies

● public policy

● bioinformatics

In other words, the program is geared not only toward future economists or lawyers, but also toward those who wish to pursue careers in the technological or social sectors.

Why this program matters: not just a grant, but a path home

After a long stay abroad, returning home for young people means more than just changing countries—it means rebuilding their entire path. Come Back Home addresses precisely these questions: where to study, how to adapt, where to find a first job, and whether there will be a community nearby.

In recent years, a significant portion of young Ukrainians has integrated into the educational systems of Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, the Netherlands, and other countries. Some will stay there for a long time, but others are still open to returning—provided there is quality education, a safe environment, and real professional prospects. This program was created specifically for them.

A Come Back Home student receives not just a grant, but a clear roadmap for the first year: enroll, study, receive support, and gradually enter the Ukrainian professional sphere.

We remind you! In 2026, the application process for higher education institutions moved online via the EGEBO system.
