Adriatic Express 2026: The Warsaw–Rijeka train returns with a new route to Slovenia and a shorter travel time
This summer, the Polish Adriatic Express train will once again connect Warsaw with Rijeka, Croatia — with an extension to Slovenia and six trips per week. Learn about the route, schedule, prices, and how to plan your trip to Croatia by train
This summer, the Adriatic Express train will once again run between Poland and Croatia, connecting Warsaw with Rijeka, Croatia. The route will operate from June 26 to August 28, 2026. This was reported by Croatia Week
Compared to last season, the train has received several improvements: shorter travel time, a longer route, and more frequent departures.

Schedule and new route: now extending to Slovenia
The Adriatic Express will depart from Warsaw around 2:00 PM and arrive in Rijeka the following morning. Travel time is 18 hours, which is one hour less than last season.
An important new feature this season is the extension of the route to Slovenia. In Ljubljana, the train will split into two sections: one heading to Rijeka, Croatia, and the other to Koper, Slovenia. This way, travelers will also be able to reach Ljubljana and Koper.
In addition, PKP Intercity promises to organize combined “train-bus” trips to Trieste, Italy, making the route even more flexible for those who want to combine multiple destinations.

Service frequency has doubled
Another significant change is that the number of weekly trips has increased from four to six. This significantly expands travel planning options and offers more choices regarding departure dates. For Ukrainians planning a vacation on the Adriatic and looking to reach Croatia or Slovenia by rail, this train is a convenient option via Poland.
Prices and Ticket Sales
Ticket sales began on May 5, 2026. The fare for early bookings is approximately 46 euros. Prices may rise as the departure date approaches, so the early start of sales is a good opportunity to lock in the lowest price.
