Datová schránka is changing its address on June 26, 2026: What do Ukrainians in the Czech Republic need to do?

Starting June 26, 2026, Datová schránka, the Czech service for electronic communication with government agencies, will switch to the new domain datovka.gov.cz. Find out what will change, when the old address will stop working, and how to make sure you don’t miss important notifications

Starting June 26, 2026, the Czech service for electronic correspondence with government agencies — Datová schránka — will move to a new address: https://datovka.gov.cz.

This change is related to the consolidation of government services on the single gov.cz portal. The system’s functionality remains unchanged—the new address does not affect the mailbox’s operation, message storage, or any other processes.

How long will the old address be active, and what happens afterward?

The old address, mojedatovaschranka.cz, will continue to function until August 27, 2026. After that date, it won’t disappear completely — automatic redirection to the new domain will be enabled.

This means that even if you don’t have time to update your bookmarks or links by the end of August, the system will automatically redirect you to the new address. However, it’s better to do this ahead of time to avoid any confusion.

Important change: a new email address for notifications. In addition to the domain itself, the email address from which system notifications are sent is changing. Starting June 26, emails will no longer come from: [email protected], but from the new address: [email protected].

This is a critical detail that’s easy to overlook. If the old address was added to your email client’s “whitelist,” new notifications from an unfamiliar address may automatically end up in your spam folder — and you’ll miss important messages from government agencies.

What to do: Open your email settings and add the address [email protected] to your trusted senders or whitelist. This will take just a few minutes and ensure that no official notifications get lost.

For Ukrainians in the Czech Republic who use Datová schránka to communicate with government agencies — for example, regarding registration, residence permits, or other immigration matters — it is important to update your information in a timely manner. If you have questions regarding your legal status or interactions with Czech government agencies, Visit Ukraine’s immigration lawyers and experts on protecting the rights of Ukrainians abroad can provide personalized consultation.

We remind you! The Czech government has approved a legislative amendment that will tighten the conditions of stay and financial support for Ukrainians. Read about who will be affected by the changes, what provisions are planned to be repealed, and when the amendments may take effect.
