Mass emergency power outages continue in Ukraine due to attacks by russian troops. Due to power outages, foreign guests of Ukraine and Ukrainians may face inconvenience while staying in different cities of the country. The Association of Hotels and Resorts of Ukraine (UHRA) conducted a survey among hoteliers and created an interactive map for finding hotels in case of emergency shutdowns. We tell you where you can stop to avoid a blackout.

Hotels that are fully or partially ready to welcome their guests during blackouts on December 9, 2022, are located in several cities of Ukraine, namely:

• Kyiv and the region;

• Dnipro;

• Poltava;

• Cherkasy;

• Odesa;

• Vinnytsia;

• Khmelnytskyi;

• Chernivtsi;

• Rivne;

• Ternopil;

• Carpathians (Ivano-Frankivsk region);

• Lviv and the region;

• Transcarpathia.

When forming the map, a number of features and requirements of the technical system of hotels were taken into account.

✔️ availability of shelter;

✔️ means for autonomous energy supply, the presence of a generator and its power level, to ensure the operation of engineering systems, lighting, technological equipment in accordance with its capacities;

✔️water tanks or own well in case of water supply interruptions;

✔️ dependence of the heat supply system on the gas pipeline and power grids;

✔️ methods of providing the Internet and its coverage;

✔️ availability and work schedule of an establishment for the provision of food services;

✔️voice notification system and communication with guests;

✔️ availability of areas for public use.

On the map, hotels are marked with different colors (green, yellow and blue), which indicate the level of preparedness of hotels for emergency blackouts.

- green: marked hotels with maximum readiness and meet all the above requirements.

- yellow: marked hotels that are ready to operate during a blackout, but with certain restrictions.

- blue: corresponds to hotels that work on improving the service and meet at least half of the requirements.

You can familiarize yourself with the interactive card at the link.

It is worth noting that the list will be updated. Because some hotels are just starting or have not yet finished blackout preparations.

We will remind you! With the upcoming cold weather and blackouts across the country, various facilities are installing alternative energy sources to help you stay connected, work and just stay warm when the power goes out. Read about where to find such establishments in our material at the link.
