Finding a good job with a decent salary and working conditions in Europe is often an asterisked task. Find out which countries offer the best conditions for workers in 2024 and where to look for current vacancies

Moving to another country is always stressful: in addition to dealing with urgent everyday issues, you need to look for a job in a country that has a different language, rules and customs. But it's worth remembering that many employers offer jobs without language skills, with accommodation and even transportation to the workplace. 


Wherever in Europe you are looking for a job, the most vacancies can be found in the following professions: care for the elderly, production workers, construction workers, seasonal workers: waiters, cooks, harvest workers. 


Basic tips on how to find a job abroad:


1. Write honestly about the presence or absence of experience
2. Emphasize personal skills 
3. Send a large number of resumes to different vacancies
4. Contact directly with the company where you want to work or use the services of a trusted employment agency
5. Do not neglect the opportunity to take free training/courses
6. Do your best at work to show your interest

Vacancies in Iceland


It is important to note that recruitment in Iceland starts in advance, i.e. if an employer plans to hire a person in May/June, the vacancy will be published in January/February.


The most popular industries:
1. Gastronomy/hospitality (seasonal)
2. Fishing
3. Construction
4. Work in production


The average salary in the country is 2720-3115 EUR, in Reykjavik it is much higher - 4640 EUR. 

Among the disadvantages of living in Iceland are the harsh climate and rather high cost of living. 


Jobs in Norway


Permanent jobs in Norway are usually sought for:

1. welders - 3500 EUR
2. builders - 2990-3300 EUR
3. drivers (trucks, garbage trucks and buses) - 3250-3400 EUR
4. electricians - 2400-3200 EUR
5. production workers - 3100 EUR
6. carpenters - 3250 EUR


There are also seasonal offers, it will usually be the repair of summer houses, assistance in fishing ports, work in the hotel industry and gastronomy: maids, cooks, waiters.

Jobs in Italy


Most often, jobs in Italy can be found in seasonal industries: in vineyards, orchards, tomato and citrus plantations. Workers are also often sought after at resorts, where bartenders, waiters, cooks, maids, and animators are needed. If you are looking for a permanent job, check out the vacancies for nannies, guardians, housekeepers, and builders. A housekeeper here will receive about 1200 EUR, a maid 1300-1700 EUR, a driver up to 2500 EUR.


Jobs in the Netherlands


It is quite easy to find vacancies in the country without knowledge of the language. Most often, these will be job offers in:

1. Greenhouses

2. In a warehouse

3. In production

4. At harvesting


The hourly net rate here will vary between 10-16 EUR per hour, depending on the industry.

2. Care for the elderly - 1000-1200 EUR
3. Cleaning - 1000-1200 EUR
4. Construction - 2000-4000 EUR

7. Worker in the warehouse - 1500-2000 EUR
8. Gastronomy and hotels - 1500-2500 EUR


During the period of harvesting, tending fields and gardens, and the opening of the tourist season, vacancies in many countries become much more numerous. Which countries should you choose if you are going abroad in the summer and fall?
