The Migration Service is launching a service of simultaneous registration of ID-cards and passports
Table of contents
Due to the military aggression of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine, there is a need for quick and convenient registration or renewal of lost passport documents. The Government of Ukraine has adopted a resolution introducing a pilot project on the simultaneous registration (including instead of lost or stolen documents) or exchange of a passport of a citizen of Ukraine and an international passport of a citizen of Ukraine.
Previously, it was possible to issue a passport only if you have an ID card. In the future, in case of loss of documents or the need to exchange them due to changes in personal data, a person may apply for a simultaneous issuance of an ID-card and a passport, without the need to first issue an ID-card, and only after receiving it to apply for a foreign passport. It should be noted that in the framework of this registration, the application for a passport is submitted by a person from 14 years of age in person, without the presence of a legal representative.
To obtain such a service, a person may apply to territorial bodies / territorial subdivisions of the State Migration Service, administrative service centers or separate subdivisions of the state enterprise "Document" (citizen service centers "Passport Service").
❗ Citizens of Ukraine will be able to use this service after the entry into force of the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, ie after its official publication, as well as the technical implementation in the information and communication system of the Migration Service.
