Currently, there are the following types of visas depending on the purpose of the trip:

1) Employment visa - obtained for an early stay in Europe for the purpose of earning money.

2) Tourist visa - obtained when visiting Schengen countries for tourist purposes;

3) Visitor visa - is issued on the basis of a special invitation from a resident of a Schengen country;

4) Business visa (business visa) - is issued for visiting Schengen countries for the purpose of concluding contracts (a prerequisite is an invitation from a business partner).

Fixed types of Schengen visas include:

1. Universal Schengen visa - type A (airport transit visa - travelling between airports without entering the territory of the Schengen countries) and type C (short-term visa - travelling for 90 days to any Schengen country within 180 days). Schengen visa type C can be single-entry, double-entry or multiple-entry.

2. Limited territorial validity - the visa holder can travel only to the country indicated on the special sticker, or additionally to the countries whose codes are specifically indicated in the visa.

3. National visa type "D" - is possible for persons studying, working or residing in one of the Schengen countries. Valid for a period of 1 year.
