Lviv region will launch a pilot project to call a taxi using Bolt and Uklon services during curfews. We'll tell you when they want to start the journeys and what rules will be set.

It's worth recalling that in March this year, a scandal erupted around Ukon, which was about taxi service during the curfew.

Taxis will run under certain rules during curfew

Taras Hren, chief of staff of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, explained that to work at night, you will need to obtain a special pass, which will be issued at the commandant's office.

However, only taxi drivers will be required to have a pass. In addition, they must have updated military registration data. Passengers will not be required to have any passes.

The project is scheduled to be launched this week. It all depends on when the drivers will be able to get a pass.

Why did you decide to allow travelling?

As explained by the regional administration, the idea is that the taxis will be used by tourists. That is, people will travel from or to the railway station at night. The service will also allow people to move around the city in case of emergency.

According to Hreni, during the curfew, there were no conflicts with those who were on the street because of the arrival or departure of trains. The service of legal taxi calls at night should be launched by the end of the week.

‘Between 00:00 and 05:00, during the curfew, about 20-30 trains arrive in Lviv. This is actually the number of people who potentially need to travel at night, subject to all the rules. To ensure that this movement is safe and at adequate prices, as well as to make it transparent, in cooperation with Bolt and Uklon, we will launch this service this week,’ the Lviv City Hall said.

Earlier, we wrote about curfew rules in different regions of Ukraine.

It's worth noting that a taxi service at night can be useful for foreigners travelling to Ukraine. However, they will also need an insurance policy that covers military risks. This insurance is very important, especially in the conditions of wartime that the country is experiencing.

We remind you! Amid the ongoing war in Ukraine, there are discussions about the reopening of air travel. We wrote about which city could receive flights, the current stage of the discussion and what is preventing the launch of flights.
