Can a foreigner receive a scholarship at a Ukrainian university?
Appointment and payment of academic scholarships to students, cadets of non-military higher education institutions, clinical residents, trainee assistants, graduate students, doctoral students from among foreigners and stateless persons permanently residing in Ukraine, persons granted refugee status in Ukraine, persons in need additional or temporary protection, occurs in the event that they obtain higher education within the quotas determined by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and on general grounds.

Students from countries that require a visa or have signed a visa-free regime agreement for up to 90 days (tourist, private and business trips) must apply for a long-term visa (type D) to Ukraine, which allows them to stay in Ukraine for more than 90 days.
Citizens of countries with which Ukraine has signed a visa-free regime agreement (Georgia, Moldova, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan) do not need a visa to Ukraine, but must provide an original or a photocopy of the "Invitation to study" when crossing the Ukrainian border to verify the purpose of your visit to Ukraine.

How long does the visa application process take?
As a rule, the visa application process takes about ten working days. Sometimes it can be extended up to 30 working days.
It is worth noting that your previous education documents must be officially certified before submitting them to the consulate. This can be done in one of two ways: legalized by the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Ukraine in your country or apostilled and legalized by the Embassy of Ukraine in your country. These documents must be officially recognized in Ukraine in order for a Ukrainian university to issue you a diploma of graduation.
