From now on, the unemployed will be involved in public works and will be paid a minimum wage for this. The government activates the mechanism of attracting the unemployed to the country's "Recovery Army" through their participation in socially useful works. This was reported to the Ministry of Economy.

People who have been left without work for various reasons will be able to join the Army of the country's reconstruction, and the state will pay for their work at the level of the minimum wage, which since October is UAH 6,700.

All able-bodied persons, in particular, registered unemployed and internally displaced persons who do not have health restrictions, will be involved in the work.

Fixed-term labor contracts will be concluded with the participants of such works in accordance with the Labor Code.

In what jobs will the unemployed be involved?

Because of the war, a high level of unemployment (about 30%) is expected in the country at the end of the year, so the unemployed will be employed in:

▪️ arrangement of block posts, felling of trees to form trenches;

▪️ procurement of firewood for the military and the population;

▪ demolition of rubble and restoration of buildings damaged by hostilities;

▪ strengthening of dams;

▪️ clearing roads from debris;

▪️ unloading of humanitarian aid;

▪️ arrangement of shelters;

▪️ repairs and restoration of premises of the social sphere;

▪️ assistance to IDPs, people with disabilities and the elderly.

Today, socially useful works have already been implemented in Sumy and Chernihiv Regions. Thus, in Sumy Region, such works have been implemented in 18 territorial communities out of 26, where there are no active hostilities, and almost 400 unemployed people have been employed in them. In the Chernihiv Region, 78 unemployed people were involved in such work.
