In Ukraine, the implementation of the electronic notary "Nota" has begun. The first stage of the project is the creation of notarial documents with a QR code, the authenticity of which can be checked using the QR scanner in the "Diia" application. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.

Why is the implementation of electronic notary important?

Notarial documents are drawn up on special forms. But since the beginning of a full-scale invasion, difficulties arise with their production and logistics. So notaries were allowed to form some of the documents on ordinary white A4 paper.

In addition, there are cases of forgeries of notarial documents even on special forms. From now on, it is enough to use the QR scanner in the "Diia" application to check notarial documents.

With a QR code, you can download an electronic copy of the document in a few clicks for review and storage. No need to scan or take photos anymore.

Attention! In the case of unsuccessful scanning of the QR code, the "Diia" application will notify you of the problem: there is no Internet, the document is not in the e-notary system, etc. To check a document, both the owner of the document and the person performing the check must have the "Diia" application installed and access to the Internet.

What documents can notaries create with a QR code:

• power of attorney,

• car rental agreement,

• a statement certifying the authenticity of the signature.

Importantly! Only notaries who have access to the Unified State e-Notary System can create a document with a QR code. Now only Kyiv notaries have it. However, later the service will be available for all of Ukraine.

"Everything works very simply. For example, you need to open a bank account through a trusted person. She comes to the bank and provides a power of attorney with a QR code on it. Then the employee reads his QR code with a scanner in Diia. Then you and the trusted person receive a request for the transfer of an electronic copy of a bank document. One of you must confirm it in Diia. That's all!", - commented on the launch of the new service, the head of the Ministry of Digital, Mykhailo Fedorov.

Previously, it was necessary to spend about 2 days on the verification of documents. Now with a new function in the "Diia" app — a few minutes.
