Due to the difficult energy situation in Ukraine, the import of Starlink generators and satellite communication terminals was allowed without VAT and customs duties. The country also simplified the rules for storing fuel without a license.

On December 13, the Verkhovna Rada voted for two draft laws to promote the restoration of Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Thus, now:

• customs duty and VAT on the import of generators and other equipment, including for individuals, are cancelled. This rule will be in effect until May 2023;

• it is allowed to store fuel up to 2 tons without a license. At the same time, it will be necessary to notify the tax office about large amounts on a declarative basis;

• exempted from VAT and duty-free technical assistance of Energy Community. The norm also applies to the import of energy recovery equipment.

Note! Components for the manufacture of energy equipment, water purification, and means of satellite communication to the Internet, including Starlink terminals, fell under the tax incentives.

The exemption for the import of these goods applies to both legal entities and private customer.

What does this mean for buyers?

The relevant decision of the Verkhovna Rada makes current products cheaper by approximately 25%, First Deputy Minister of Economy Denys Kudin said.

"So that Ukrainian manufacturers who assemble such products in Ukraine do not find themselves in a disadvantageous position, the government additionally exempted spare parts for assembling generators and energy equipment from VAT and customs duties", - explained the representative of the Ministry of Economy.

RULES FOR STAYING IN HOTELS

The simultaneous stay of visitors in the hotel lobby not more than one person per 10 square meters of serviceable area is allowed.

Persons can visit hotels and stay there (outside hotel room) only if they wear respirator or face mask (including homemade mask), so that the nose and mouth are covered.

Hotel guests are obliged to keep the 1.5 meters distance.

Online check-in making in advance is recommended to avoid queues at check-in to hotel.

Meals in hotels are provided through meals delivery service to rooms upon prior order or at hotel restaurants situated inside or in open areas, provided the distance of at least 1.5 meters between seats at adjacent tables.

Not more than 4 clients are allowed to stay at the table (excluding children under 14 years old). Unless these tables are separated by a special partition;

Self-serve is not allowed.
