Ukrainians have found refuge around the world, and the Scandinavian countries are no exception. According to the Norwegian Ministry of Labor and Social Inclusion, more than 30,000 refugees settled in Norway in 2022.

Read more about what to consider before traveling to Norway here.

Citizens of Ukraine who have found refuge in the country are granted temporary protection status, which is valid for a year (it can be extended for another three years if necessary). This status allows you to work legally. We will tell you how to find a job and how much you can earn in Norway.

Jobs for Ukrainians in Norway: is it easy to find?

There is a demand for both skilled workers and seasonal workers in Norway. However, full-time jobseekers will face a problem - knowledge of the local language.

In most cases, employers carefully check the knowledge of Norwegian, and also want to hire experienced workers with a high level of English.

However, do not be afraid. Norway is not a popular country for economic emigration, so there are few foreigners looking for work.

What professions are available for refugees in Norway?

There are also jobs for those who do not speak English or are just starting their career. There is a high demand for such specialists in Norway:

 Electricians;

 construction workers;

 welders;

 truck, bus and garbage truck drivers;

 mechanics;

 carpenters;

 production workers.

If you are looking for a seasonal job, you can get a job with the following positions:

 Maid;

 waiter, cook or kitchen assistant;

 assistant in fishing ports;

 assistant in painting summer houses.

Please note that work experience or knowledge of a foreign language is not required for seasonal work.  You can view seasonal job offers in Norway here.

Take care of your own safety while in Norway

Norway equates refugees from Ukraine with residents. Therefore, Ukrainians can receive free medical treatment and study in the country. Healthcare is not completely free, as visits to specialists, medical transportation, and medicines need to be paid for.

In order to have a 100% guarantee of receiving medical services, we recommend taking out a reliable insurance policy. You can do this in a few clicks here.

It will guarantee your peace of mind, because in case of an emergency, you will be provided with round-the-clock support.

We remind you! Earlier we wrote that refugees who have taken refuge in Israel have every right to stay there legally until the end of the war. Find out how the country is helping Ukrainians and how many refugees are currently staying in Israel in our article.
