Buy a tour to Ukraine with the first company you see
Unfortunately, traveling to Ukraine today is not as popular among foreigners as it was two years ago, and in fact, very few companies currently offer interesting tours to different regions of the country for foreign tourists. Moreover, there is a shortage of both group excursions and individual tours.
Moreover, almost none of the tour operators give guarantees or offer insurance covering military risks. That is why it is very important to choose a reliable company that will be in touch with the tourist 24/7 and offer proper conditions for recreation.
Buy a cheap insurance policy with minimal coverage
Often, tourists perceive insurance as a formality and take out a policy with minimal coverage just to enter the country. However, this is a very gross mistake that can cost not only significant expenses but also your health. It should be noted that any visit to a medical facility in Ukraine is paid for by foreigners, and therefore even a simple cold or minor injury can cost a lot of money. And in connection with the full-scale invasion of russia, the number of risks for tourists is much higher, and therefore it is important to purchase reliable insurance that will guarantee compensation in the event of an insured event. In addition, we strongly recommend that you purchase an insurance policy covering military risks, which will guarantee your safety on the territory of Ukraine. Read more about the benefits of such insurance here.
Choose popular tours to Ukraine instead of those that appeal to you
Popular tours, of course, indicate that a region or destination is in great demand, but you should choose a tour to Ukraine based on your preferences. For example, Kyiv city tours are certainly interesting and impressive, but fans of active tourism or outdoor recreation will enjoy a tour of the Carpathians and climbing Hoverla much more. Conversely, those who want to learn more about the history and culture of Ukraine should choose tours to big cities rather than protected areas or beach resorts.
To ensure that your trip to Ukraine really meets your needs, we recommend that you do not hesitate to ask questions to the manager and choose the best destination together with a specialist.
Other common mistakes made by tourists traveling to Ukraine: what else to consider
- Check the validity of your passport and other documents;
- Put your passport, tickets, and insurance in a place where you can get them quickly. Do not pack them in your suitcase with the rest of your belongings;
- Don't take a lot of unnecessary things on your trip, it's better to limit yourself to a small list of essentials that will definitely come in handy and won't hinder your movement.
- Don't forget to take the medicines you need for the entire duration of your stay in Ukraine, but check if you can transport them across the Ukrainian border. Read more about the rules of transportation here.
- Check the weather in the place you are going to to make your arrival comfortable;
