Recently, the Ukrainian language has become a real trend and continues to gain momentum. More and more people have started to communicate in the nightingale language and support the Ukrainian language. Marketing agency Promodo conducted a detailed analysis of the number of search queries in Ukrainian.

According to the latest data, the number of Google queries has increased significantly since 2021. In particular, by analyzing the dynamics of these queries on the web, interesting trends were identified.

Here's how language queries on Google have changed.

The number of search queries in Ukrainian has almost doubled

In 2021, only 15-19% of search queries were in Ukrainian. However, today this number is growing rapidly, almost reaching 30%.

Among these queries, the search for the phrase "wireless headphones" in Ukrainian stands out, which increased by 83%, from 12,000 to 22,200 queries. The use of the Ukrainian-language version of "toys" instead of "toys" in russian increased by 83.1%.

Compared to 2022, this year Ukrainians were more active in searching for news, buying toys and pet food.

It is also noticeable that the number of searches for cosmetics in Ukrainian has increased by almost a third. Now less than half of Ukrainians continue to search for the drug Chlorophyllipt in russian. Overall demand in the medical niche has increased by almost 9% year-on-year. The number of searches in Ukrainian is 22.8 thousand.

The number of Google queries in Ukrainian is growing

As a result of these changes, it is clear that Ukrainians have become more active in using the Ukrainian language to search for goods and services online. According to Promodo, the average number of search queries in Ukrainian is expected to increase from 25.8% to 30% in 2024.

How was the research conducted?

The study covered the period from 2021 to 2023 and is aimed at identifying changes in users' language preferences.

The process involved analyzing search queries in 8 key categories: electronics, news, medicine, cosmetics, sports, alcohol, pet products, and children's products.

The researchers collected a large number of specific queries, selected those that had identical wording in both Ukrainian and russian, and analyzed the frequency of Ukrainian and russian-language search queries over the past few years.

We remind you! Earlier, we wrote that a significant development in the use of the Ukrainian language on social media was noted in 2023. This trend demonstrates the growing interest of users in using their native language in the online environment and support for national cultural heritage.
