Ukraine is considered to be a country with diverse natural landscapes, among which you can find magnificent water areas. In the summer, many Ukrainians and tourists go to water bodies to enjoy fresh air, swim, and take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. We'll tell you where to enjoy the cool waters and where to go.

Before the outbreak of full-scale war, Ukraine had more than 350 beaches by rivers and lakes and about 190 on the Black and Azov Seas. However, some of them are now under occupation, so you cannot visit them. Some water bodies are also off-limits to visitors because they are in the danger zone.

According to the State Agency for Tourism Development of Ukraine, 168 beaches in 15 regions are currently accessible and officially permitted for citizens.

We would like to note that beaches will not be officially opened in Kyiv and Kyiv, Chernihiv, Vinnytsia, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.
