What is glamping?

Literally from English, "glamping" is translated as glamorous camping (a combination of the words glamor and camping). This is a relatively new format of accommodation facilities, which is usually a stylish and quite modern building, the roof of which can be made of glass, and the walls of wood.

Also, it should not be confused with camping, because it is not just a tent on a platform, a glamping must have a toilet and shower, stylish furniture, soft bedding, electricity, Wi-Fi, even air conditioning and a kitchen.

Usually, glamping sites are located in the main tourist spots - in the mountains, forests, on the sea and river coasts.

The history of glamping

 The first to relax comfortably in tents were the medieval kings, who pitched huge tents during their campaigns, where there were many amenities for the highest persons. Later, this format was borrowed by rich hunting enthusiasts who made expeditions in Africa and South America. Back then, their tents housed not only comfortable beds, but also whole libraries and real cast-iron bathtubs.

In the modern world, this format of recreation gained popularity in the mid-2000s in Great Britain. Then the organizers of music festivals began to equip campsites with all the amenities to attract the most demanding visitors. Gradually, this format of recreation began to gain popularity around the world, including in Ukraine.

Where to look for glamping in Ukraine?

In Ukraine, you can experience real comfort and unity with nature in one of the following glamping sites:

- Location: village Slavsko, Stryi district, Lviv region.

- Infrastructure: a terrace with a view of the city, a kitchenette with a refrigerator and a stove, and a separate bathroom with a shower. Glampings have free Wi-Fi and private parking.

● Stodola tent

- Location: village Dolynivka, Lviv region

- Infrastructure: on the territory, not far from the tent, there is a shower with hot water, a toilet, a kitchen and a grill. When you rent this tent, you rent the entire property with the tent and the house, regardless of the number of people, that is, no one will be there except you. The minimum rental period is 2 days.

- Cost of accommodation: from UAH 3,000/person.

- What to see nearby? Admire the monument of Boyki wooden architecture in nearby Tukholka or go fishing.

- Location: village Ulyaniki, Kyiv region.
