Time magazine has recognised the Ukrainian digital services app Diia as one of the best inventions of the year. The magazine evaluated one of the functions of the Ukrainian government app.
What feature was recognised by Time?
The magazine recognised Diia as one of the best developments due to the launch of the Marriage Online feature.
Since September, Ukrainian citizens have been able to get married in an unusual way: through the Diia app, which has more than 20 million users.
‘The system is simple, albeit unromantic: one partner makes an offer through the app, and a message is sent to the other. If the other party responds ‘yes’ within 14 days, they agree on a wedding date in a video call with an official representative on the Webex platform,’ the journalists explained.
