Wizz Air launches new flights from Iasi and Chisinau: where Ukrainians will be able to fly in 2026
European air travel is becoming more accessible for Ukrainians thanks to new low-cost airline routes. Find out where you can fly with the new Wizz Air flights from Iasi and Chisinau in 2026
Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air is expanding its route network in Europe and has announced the launch of new flights from two airports located near Ukraine. These are the Romanian city of Iasi and the capital of Moldova, Chisinau. The new destinations are scheduled for May–June 2026 and will open up additional opportunities for Ukrainians to travel to popular European cities.
New Wizz Air flights from Iasi: destinations and launch dates
Starting in May 2026, Wizz Air will begin operating flights from Iasi Airport to two Italian destinations. Both cities are traditionally popular with tourists thanks to their combination of culture, gastronomy, and convenient transport links to other regions of the country.
New routes from Iasi: Milan (Malpensa Airport), Italy and Pisa, Italy.
Iasi Airport is one of the closest airports to the Ukrainian border in Romania, so it is often chosen by Ukrainians as a starting point for their travels in Europe. The launch of new flights significantly expands the options for non-stop flights to Italy.

Expansion of routes from Chisinau in May–June 2026
In addition to the Romanian destination, Wizz Air has also announced the launch of several new flights from the Moldovan capital. In May–June 2026, it will be possible to fly directly from Chisinau to four European cities in different countries.
New destinations from Chisinau:
● Cologne, Germany;
● Basel-Mulhouse, France;
● Rhodes, Greece;
● Rimini, Italy.
Chisinau remains an important transport hub for Ukrainians traveling by air. Thanks to the new flights, passengers will be able to plan both tourist and business trips faster and more conveniently.
The airports of Iasi and Chisinau are located relatively close to the border with Ukraine and have convenient ground connections.
