New signs for charging stations for electric and hybrid vehicles in Poland

One of the key changes was the introduction of new road signs D-23b and D-23c, which indicate the location of charging stations for vehicles running on alternative fuels. Poland is actively developing infrastructure for electric and hybrid cars, so there was a need for clear marking of such facilities.

Thanks to the new signs, drivers will be able to navigate more quickly in populated areas and on intercity routes. The signs will be installed near officially equipped charging points. Their appearance takes into account the growing number of vehicles with electric and mixed power plants on Polish roads.

Sign F-23: multi-purpose lane in built-up areas

Another innovation is the F-23 sign, which indicates a multi-purpose lane within a built-up area. This lane is designed to facilitate exiting or entering the main road, which helps optimize traffic flows in cities.

In areas with this sign, there are clear rules for using the lane. Overtaking within such a lane is prohibited. Drivers must pay close attention to road markings and signs, as violating the rules of the road in a multi-purpose lane can result in administrative liability.

Sign F-24: warning of wrong-way traffic

Sign F-24 is used to prevent dangerous situations on expressways and motorways. It warns of wrong-way traffic and aims to reduce the risk of

head-on collisions.

This sign is primarily intended for use at exits and entrances to expressways, where there is an increased likelihood of mistaken entry. Clear

visual indication will help drivers to correct their route in a timely manner and avoid creating an emergency situation.

Transition period for old road signs in Poland

A transition period is provided for signs of the previous model. They will remain in force until they are replaced, but for no longer than 10 years. This approach allows for the gradual renewal of road infrastructure without the abrupt dismantling of existing signs.

During this time, drivers should be aware of the possible coexistence of old and new sign formats. The rules governing their meaning remain mandatory regardless of the year of installation.

When planning a trip to Poland by car, make sure you have the mandatory civil liability insurance abroad.
