Car Purchase Agreement on “Diia”: How to Access the Document and Why You Should Save It Immediately
The car purchase agreement on “Diia” is only available for a limited time after the transaction is completed. Find out how to access the document, how long it remains available, and why it’s important to download it immediately
Processing car sales through the “Diya” app has become standard practice for Ukrainian drivers. However, not everyone is aware that access to the digital contract is time-limited, and failing to obtain it can cause problems, particularly when filing income tax returns. This is reported by the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The issue of obtaining the contract is particularly important now, during the 2025 tax filing campaign. Tax returns must be filed by March 31, 2026, and drivers who have sold a car are required to include this information. This is precisely why a sales contract is needed—it confirms the fact of the transaction and its terms.

How do you get a car sales contract in the “Diia” app?
After finalizing the transaction through the app, the document is automatically generated in digital format. You can find it in the “Dii” app on the status screen of the vehicle re-registration service.
The most important thing to know: the contract is not permanently stored in the app. Access to it is available only for one month after the transaction is concluded. After that, obtaining the document will be much more difficult, as you will have to contact the Ministry of Internal Affairs service centers.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasizes: the document must be downloaded immediately after completion. This is important for:
● filing a tax return;
● confirming ownership;
● resolving potential legal issues;
● inspections or disputes.
Downloading takes only a few minutes—simply save the file in PDF format.
By the way, after buying a car, it’s worth considering additional financial protection. For example, car insurance “Basic Kasko” on Visit Ukraine covers basic risks—such as damage resulting from traffic accidents, natural disasters, or the consequences of military actions—and helps avoid significant expenses in case of unforeseen situations.
What to do if you didn’t save the contract?
If access to the document has already been lost, drivers will have to contact the Ministry of Internal Affairs service centers to obtain a copy. That is why the agency advises not to delay downloading the document—it’s a simple step that will help avoid unnecessary difficulties in the future.
We remind you! Selling a car in Ukraine entails tax obligations for the vehicle owner. Read about who exactly pays the tax, what rates apply to the second and third sales, and whether a power of attorney affects taxation.
