The Ukrainian electric vehicle market continues to grow, and an increasing number of drivers are choosing electric cars. According to data from Ukravtoprom, 1,074 electric vehicles (BEVs) were added to the Ukrainian vehicle fleet in February 2026 alone.

In which regions are the most electric vehicles purchased?

The western and central regions of Ukraine showed the highest activity in electric vehicle registrations. Leaders by number of registered vehicles:

● Lviv Oblast — 153 vehicles (93% used);

● Volyn Oblast — 97 vehicles (99% used);

● Kyiv city — 93 cars (74% used);

● Kyiv Oblast — 89 cars (83% used);

● Rivne Oblast — 75 cars (93% used).

Why do Ukrainians choose used electric cars?

The high proportion of used cars is explained by several factors:

● significantly lower price compared to new models;

● a wide selection of electric vehicles from Europe and the U.S.;

● availability of popular models with a proven reputation.

That is why, even in large cities, new electric cars do not yet dominate the market.

● Volyn Oblast — SKODA Enyaq;

● Kyiv — BYD Leopard 3 and HONDA eNP2;

● Kyiv Oblast — VW ID.UNYX and ZEEKR 001;

● Rivne Oblast — BYD Yuan Up.

● TESLA Model Y — the leader in Kyiv;

● NISSAN Leaf — the most popular in Volyn and Rivne regions.
