Ukraine has introduced a new procedure for providing financial support to military personnel, employees of special units of the National Police and foreigners serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The government adopted the relevant decision within the framework of a pilot project that will operate for two years.

The new system provides not only basic payments for the performance of combat missions, but also additional rewards for participating in assault operations, capturing enemy positions, taking the enemy prisoner and other results of combat work. The maximum amount of payments to one serviceman can reach 460 thousand hryvnias per month.

What has changed in the system of payments to military personnel?

According to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 768, the new mechanism of financial support has been applied since June 1, 2026. The amount of remuneration now directly depends on the level of risk, place of service and the nature of the tasks performed.

The government emphasizes that the main goal of the innovations is to ensure a fairer approach to paying for service and increase the motivation of servicemen who perform the most complex combat missions.

A separate block of the resolution is devoted to rewards for specific results during the performance of combat missions. In particular, it provides for:

- 20,000 UAH per day - for assault actions during the restoration of lost positions;

- 40,000 UAH per day - for assault and capture of enemy positions;

Maximum amount of payments

One of the key changes was the establishment of a maximum amount of monthly cash support.

From now on, the total amount of all payments, allowances and combat rewards that one military personnel can receive during a calendar month should not exceed 460 thousand hryvnias.

The actual amount of payments will depend on the duration of stay in the combat zone, the complexity of the tasks, the position held and the presence of grounds for accruing special bonuses.

Why did the government revise the compensation system?

After more than four years of full-scale war, the issue of fair distribution of financial support remains one of the priorities of state policy. The new mechanism aims to make the payment system more transparent and tie the amount of compensation to real risks and service results.

The pilot project will also allow assessing the effectiveness of the new model and, if necessary, making changes to the system of financial support for military personnel in the future.

Issues of social benefits, military support, the status of a combatant, compensation and state guarantees often require professional legal support. Errors in documents or ignorance of your rights can lead to delays in payments or denial of appropriate benefits. A qualified lawyer will help you understand the legislation, prepare the necessary documents and protect your interests before state authorities.
