Learn more about Visit Ukraine tours with discounts for military personnel and the terms for receiving them
Active recreation in the mountains is a wonderful way to recharge, gain new experiences, and spend quality time with your loved ones. Visit Ukraine has put together a selection of action-packed Carpathian tours featuring mountain climbs, river rafting, horseback riding, and hikes to waterfalls. Special conditions are available for military personnel and their families, making the trip even more affordable.
What awaits travelers in each program and how to take advantage of the discount—we’ll tell you more in this article.
Why do the Carpathians remain Ukrainians’ favorite destination?
The Carpathians attract travelers year-round thanks to a unique combination of natural beauty, accessibility, and a wealth of routes for every skill level. The majestic two-thousand-meter peaks of the Chornohora, the protected Gorgan tracts, the rushing waters of the Black Cheremosh, and dozens of waterfalls create boundless opportunities for discovery. Hutsul culture, authentic farmsteads, home-cooked meals, and the warmth of the locals offer that special sense of warmth that’s hard to find elsewhere. Ukrainians choose the Carpathians both for the mountain air and for the chance to recharge away from the city’s noise.
Another advantage is the variety of vacation options. Some seek leisurely walks through the mountain meadows, others dream of conquering the highest peaks of the range, and still others enjoy rafting down rushing rapids or a sauna in a mountain hut after a busy day. The Carpathians are equally welcoming to beginners and experienced travelers, families with children, groups of friends, and solo travelers. Visit Ukraine strives to make this vacation as accessible as possible for service members and their families, so a 25% discount is available for military personnel on our exclusive Carpathian tours.

Discounted Tours of Ukraine for Military Personnel
Each three-day program has its own unique character and takes travelers to different corners of the Carpathians, so you can choose exactly what suits your mood and physical fitness.
HUT ROUTE: Three 2,000-meter peaks. The route starts in Vorokhta and leads through the Prut Valley, along the Marish Stream, and over the Marishevska Ridge to the “White Elephant Gadzhyna” mountain hut at an altitude of 1,100 meters. Hikers spend the night in a hut with a view of the two-thousand-meter peaks of the Chornogora, warm up in a hot tub under the stars, and the next day conquer the majestic cliffs of Shpits (1,863 m) and the Rebra peak (2,001 m). If the weather permits, the group also has the chance to climb Brebeneskul (2,035 m) and Gutyn Tomnatyk (2,016 m). The third day follows the Kosaryshche Ridge with panoramic views of the Chornogora range and concludes at the “White Elephant Dzembronya” camp.
Hike to Pip Ivan. This three-day program, based at the “White Elephant Dzembronya” camp, combines a warm-up hike to the Hungarian Rocks (1,250 m) through the Black Cheremosh Valley, a possible encounter with a Hutsul family in the mountains, and the main event—the ascent to Pip Ivan Chornohirskyi (2,028 m) via the Pid Smotrych meadow and Vukhatyi Kamin Mountain. At the summit, travelers will enjoy a picnic of freeze-dried meals from YDLO, a photo session near the legendary observatory, and a swing ride over the abyss. The final day is dedicated to a leisurely hike along the Stepansky–Kosarysche ridge, from where the entire Chornohora range unfolds like the palm of your hand.
Pip Ivan, rafting, horses. A program for those who want to experience the Carpathians from multiple perspectives in a single trip. On the first day, the group rafts down the rapids of the Black Cheremosh—Dzembronya, Didiv Likot, Bila Kobyla, Huchky, and Huk—under the supervision of an experienced safety kayaker in rafts or inflatable kayaks. The second day is dedicated to climbing Pip Ivan Chornohirskyi, with a picnic at the summit and a tour of the observatory. On the third day, travelers will enjoy a horseback ride along the Stepanskyi–Kosaryshche ridge with panoramic views, and those who wish can swap this for another rafting trip down the Cheremosh.
Hike in the Gorgany: Syvulia, Peklo Pass, waterfalls. This three-day adventure starts in Ivano-Frankivsk and takes travelers to the village of Bystrytsia. The first day follows the Tavpishyrka Ridge, including visits to the Vysokohirny Arboretum and the Yavorchyk mountain pasture. On the second day, the group conquers Syvulia (1,836 m)—the highest peak of the Gorgany, covered in rocky scree—and explores the bizarre Peklo ravine with its 100-meter precipice and the 6-meter Salatruchil waterfall. The third day is entirely devoted to waterfalls—Upper and Lower Roztoka, Bukhtivetsky, Krapelkovy, as well as the Malyovnychyi Rocks with a panoramic view of the Bystrytsia-Nadvirnianska River. If conditions permit, the group will also have time to visit the 16th-century Pnivsky Castle.
How to get a discount on the tour for military personnel?
ATO, Joint Forces Operation, and full-scale war veterans, as well as active-duty military personnel, can receive a 25% discount on Visit Ukraine Carpathian tours. Simply contact a manager via the website or messaging apps and indicate your desire to take advantage of the special terms for military personnel.
The manager will help you choose the best dates for your trip, explain the details of accommodation, meals, and logistics, and answer all questions regarding physical fitness and the necessary equipment for a specific route.
The discount also applies to the military personnel’s immediate family members—spouse, children, mother, and father. This is a wonderful opportunity to organize a family vacation, spend a few days together in the mountains, and create warm family memories.
Other Visit Ukraine services with discounts for military personnel
In addition to Carpathian tours, special terms for military personnel and their families apply to the full range of services offered by the portal. You can receive a discount on booking transportation tickets, selecting and booking hotels in Ukraine and abroad, arranging travel and medical insurance for trips abroad, and consulting with lawyers on issues related to border crossing, legalization abroad, employment, and other legal matters. The only exception is transfer services, which are not covered by the discount.
This approach allows you to plan both short weekend trips to the mountains and extended trips abroad on favorable terms. To arrange any service with a discount, simply contact a Visit Ukraine manager and inform them of your status as a military service member or a family member. The team will find the best solution for your needs and budget.
