Useful tips for traveling abroad with children
When planning a trip with young children to another country, it is very important to take care of all the important details in advance. To save you from unnecessary stress and worries, we will provide some practical tips.
Step 1. Choose the right resort
Regardless of the age of your children, it is very important to pre-test the desired resort for your vacation. To make sure that this place really suits your family, answer the following simple questions:
1. Is the climate and weather in the chosen city suitable for your children during the summer season?
2. Is the coast safe for swimming and children's water activities?
3. In case of emergencies during the vacation, will my family be able to get medical care?
4. Will I have access to qualified doctors and specialists in this resort town or village?
If the answers to all these questions are yes, you can safely go on your trip! But if you have doubts about the safety of your child, it is better to consider alternative options for a family vacation.
Step 2. Choosing the right entertainment
Unfortunately, not all resort activities that interest adults are equally safe for children. Common causes of children's injuries during vacations are visits to water parks and extreme water rides, banana boating, water skiing, etc.
But it is better not to give young children access to such entertainment. Agree that the health of the child, the peace of mind of the parents and a vacation without force majeure are much more important than 5 minutes of entertainment.
Step 3. Choosing the right protection
When leaving your country and traveling abroad, you should always rely only on your own strength. This is especially true when traveling with small children, because you are responsible for them.
You shouldn't expect the staff of a water park, trampoline complex, or hotel to ensure 100% safety. Even relatively safe entertainment can have a negative impact on children's health. Therefore, you should always have the following things with you when traveling:
1. First aid kit: a real must-have for minor injuries such as scratches or sunburn. Pack antiseptics, a supply of adhesive plasters, sorbents, and anti-allergies in your first aid kit. You may need them in case of insect bites or contact with a jellyfish sting;
2. Personal safety equipment: never neglect a hat in sunny weather, otherwise the child may overheat in the sun. When planning a catamaran trip, put on an inflatable vest for your child in advance in case he or she falls into deep water. There are many such examples, because even seemingly carefree entertainment can negatively affect a child's health;
3. Insurance policy: according to statistics, it is children who need medical care more often while vacationing abroad than adults. Therefore, you need to take care of this point in advance and purchase an insurance policy. It will provide you with high-quality medical care during your vacation abroad, as well as save your family budget from unforeseen expenses. It is important to keep in mind that not every insurance company offers protection for children. Some offer it only from a certain age: 4, 6, 12 years old, etc. Therefore, it is better to choose an insurance company that does not have any age restrictions for travel insurance. Then you will be sure that any misunderstandings or difficulties due to the age of your child are simply impossible.
For the safest possible travel, you should buy insurance policies only from trusted agents. On the Visit Ukraine portal, you can buy reliable insurance that has many advantages: packages for entry to any country in the world, a guarantee of payments, online payment. A reliable policy will be delivered to your mail in just a few minutes.

What should I do if my child gets sick while on vacation?
If your child feels sick or one of your family members gets sick while traveling, follow the following algorithm of actions:
1. Find the insurance policy. This document will contain the number of the medical contact center where you can get help. Of course, few people carry a policy with them during a beach vacation, so it's best to save the data in your phone just in case;
2. Call the insurance company. In the event of any unforeseen health situation, immediately call the medical assistance service, they will reassure you and help you organize an ambulance;
3. Provide all the important details. The operator will ask for your identification information during the call. Tell him your name, country and city of residence, hotel address and apartment number. Tell the operator the nature of the problem and the circumstances that caused your health problems. This will help the operator determine whether your situation is covered by the insurance;
4. Follow the instructions. It is the coherence of actions that is the key to success in unforeseen situations abroad. It is quite difficult to understand the peculiarities of treatment and medical services in another country on your own, especially if you do not speak the language. Therefore, it is better to follow the recommendations of the insurance company;
5. Keep your documents. Provide the doctor with the original insurance policy, and do not forget to take a copy of the medical report and prescription for medications. If you had to pay for treatment on the spot, keep the receipts, and the insurance company will reimburse your expenses.
We are sure that your vacation will be great. We wish you a safe vacation and a happy summer!
