The financial support programme for citizens and domestic businesses is continuing. The Cabinet of Ministers has adopted an official decision to extend the popular ‘National Cashback’ initiative.

For how long has the National Cashback scheme been extended in Ukraine

According to Government Resolution No. 559, the programme has been officially extended until 30 April 2028. The updated phase of the project, proposed by the Ministry of Economy, will come into effect from 1 May 2026.

An important condition remains that the initiative is guaranteed to operate throughout the entire period of martial law, though its maximum duration is limited to the end of April 2028. The relevant decision has already been approved by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, ensuring the uninterrupted accrual of bonuses for daily purchases.

What percentage is refunded under the ‘National Cashback’ programme

The most significant innovation has been the introduction of flexible refund rates. Whilst at the start of the programme Ukrainians received a standard 10% of the cost of domestic goods purchased, the rules for calculating refunds changed from 1 March.

Now the refund rate is either 5% or 15% — the exact amount depends on the category of the goods purchased. This differentiated approach allows the state to more effectively stimulate demand for priority product groups, and enables shoppers to gain greater benefits from purchasing the goods they need.

What is National Cashback and how does it work

‘National Cashback’ is a presidential initiative that has been operating successfully since early September 2024. Its key objective is to provide large-scale support to Ukrainian manufacturers in challenging economic conditions.

By purchasing locally produced goods, citizens do not simply save money through a partial refund of the cost. In this way, buyers directly invest in the development of domestic enterprises, help preserve jobs and support the stability of the national economy.

Reminder! The global oil market is in turmoil due to the situation in the Middle East, leading to a sharp rise in fuel prices at Ukrainian petrol stations. To protect drivers from price shocks, the government is continuing the partial compensation scheme. Find out how the fuel cashback works and how much you can save.
