New Przemyśl–Frankfurt Train in 2026: A Route Through Poland, the Czech Republic, and Germany by Leo Express
This summer, one of Europe’s longest direct rail routes will launch — over 1,300 km across three countries. Find out when the new Leo Express train will start running, which cities it will connect, and what passengers can expect along the way
On June 25, 2026, the Czech private rail operator Leo Express will launch a new international route, which will become one of the longest direct train services in Europe. This was reported by Euronews.
The route will stretch over 1,300 kilometers and pass through three countries — Poland, the Czech Republic, and Germany. The service will run daily in both directions.
From where to where: the full route of the new train
The new service will depart from the Polish city of Przemyśl—near the border with Ukraine. The train will then make stops in Kraków, Ostrava, Prague, Dresden, Leipzig, and Erfurt, ending its route in Frankfurt am Main and at Frankfurt Airport.

Schedule: synchronized with flights in Frankfurt
The schedule for the new route is specifically synchronized with international flights in Frankfurt—for the convenience of passengers combining rail and air travel.
Westbound (Przemyśl → Frankfurt):
● Departure from Przemyśl — at 1:31 p.m.;
● Arrival at Frankfurt Airport — the next day at 7:53 a.m.
Eastbound (Frankfurt → Przemyśl):
● Departure from Frankfurt Airport — at 8:27 a.m.;
● Arrival in Przemyśl — at 2:23 a.m. the following night.
For Ukrainians currently in Poland or planning a trip to Western Europe, this is a particularly convenient option: Przemyśl is one of the major transportation hubs closest to the Ukrainian border. And finding tickets for international routes is easy through Visit Ukraine — a service for searching and booking tickets for all modes of transport in one place.
What will passengers get on the trip?
Leo Express will provide passengers with everything they need for a comfortable long-distance journey:
● free Wi-Fi;
● power outlets for charging devices;
● air conditioning;
● a service offering drinks and snacks.
The company also emphasizes that the new route will provide direct service between Prague, Dresden, Leipzig, Erfurt, and Frankfurt without any transfers—which significantly simplifies logistics for travelers moving between these cities.
Leo Express CEO Peter Köhler emphasized that the new route has not only practical but also symbolic significance.
“With this route, we are effectively removing the ‘Iron Curtain’ between Western and Eastern Europe, connecting key European hubs and providing access to Ukraine,” he said.
