Citizens of Ukraine can enter Luxembourg without a visa if they plan to stay in the country for no more than 90 days in any 180-day period. This rule applies to tourist, business or private trips.

Customs regulations in Luxembourg are standardized for the EU.
From non-EU countries, duty-free imports of cigarettes - up to 200 pieces, cigars - 50 pieces, tobacco - 250 grams, spirits - up to 1 liter, wine - up to 2 liters are allowed. Persons transporting alcoholic beverages and cigarettes must be over 17 years old.
It is forbidden to export weapons and ammunition, antiques, and items of cultural, historical, or artistic value without a special permit.
There are no restrictions on the import or export of currency in the form of banknotes or traveler's checks. Without filling out a special customs declaration, it is allowed to move currency, checks and securities with a total value of no more than 10 thousand euros across the border.
Duty-free imports when traveling within the EU.
Tobacco products:
- 800 cigarettes;
- 400 cigarillos (no more than 3 grams each);
- 200 cigars;
- 1 kg of smoking tobacco.
Alcoholic beverages:
- 10 liters of alcoholic beverages over 22%;
- 20 liters of alcoholic beverages less than 22%;
- 90 liters of wine (but not more than 60 liters of sparkling wine);
- 110 liters of beer.
Duty-free imports from outside the EU

Items of a non-commercial nature are incidental and consist solely of goods for the traveler's personal or family use, or goods intended as gifts.
Prohibited items:
- Meat and dairy products not produced in EU countries, with the exception of products in limited quantities from Andorra, the Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland and small quantities of certain products from other countries;
- Protected species and products from them, e.g. ivory, tortoise shell, coral, reptile skin, wood from Amazonian forests.
Imports are limited:
- Pets must be identified (branded or electronic identification system), vaccinated against rabies, and a veterinary certificate is required;
- no more than 10 kg of meat, milk and dairy products imported from the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Iceland;
- milk powder for babies, baby food and special medical food (including animal food) may be allowed if they do not need to be refrigerated before opening and if these products are factory-made in packaging with the original seal and the quantity does not exceed 10 kg (for production of the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Iceland) and 2 kg (for production of other countries).
- fish, only gutted and its weight does not exceed 20 kg;
- currency - no restrictions if it is imported from EU countries. All travelers arriving from outside the EU must declare amounts exceeding 10 thousand euros or the equivalent in another currency;

Are there any free public transportation services for Ukrainians?
Refugees from Ukraine can use all public transportation for free. It is also the first country in the world to abolish public transportation fees for everyone, including foreigners.

2. By train 🚆
There is no direct connection between Luxembourg and Ukraine yet, but you can get there by train with transfers, as there are a number of international trains running from Ukraine.
Ukraine is connected to European cities by the following trains:
- Moldova: direct train №351 from Kyiv to Chisinau. The ticket price starts from 2000 hryvnias and the travel time is 17-20 hours. There is no direct train from Chisinau to Luxembourg.
📍 Bus from Chisinau to London takes 40-44 hours, ticket price from 6,000 UAH.
- Poland :
- Train №67 from Kyiv to Warsaw. The travel time is 16 hours and the ticket price is about 2000 UAH.
Warsaw - Frankfurt am Main - Luxembourg. It takes about 13-15 hours, including transfers and waiting time. Ticket prices start from 6000 UAH.
📍 The bus Warsaw - London takes approximately 26 hours and 20 minutes and costs from 3000 UAH.
- Trains №19, №119, №93 from Kyiv, Dnipro and Kharkiv run to Chełm. The ticket price starts at 1300 UAH, and the travel time is 13-15 hours.
Transfer to a direct train to Warsaw. The first direct train departs at 06:57 from the Helm station. The last train to Warszawa Skhidna departs at 18:20. The ticket price starts from 900 hryvnias, and the travel time is 3-5 hours.
- Trains №51, №705, №89, №5, №73, №32 run to Przemyśl from four Ukrainian cities - Kyiv, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Odesa. The travel time is 9 hours and 25 minutes. Tickets start at UAH 1366 for second-class cars and UAH 1946 for first-class cars.In Przemysl, you need to change to the direct EU 56 train to Berlin. It departs at 7:17 and arrives at 17:06. The ticket price is about 200 PLN. From Berlin you can get a direct train to Luxembourg.
📍 Bus Przemysl - Luxembourg takes about 30 hours and costs from 3000 UAH.
- Slovakia: the Slovak city of Kosice can be reached by trains №961, №963 from Mukachevo. Travel time is 4 hours, and ticket prices start at 366 UAH.
There is a direct train from Kosice to Bratislava. The first direct train departs at 05:07. The last train to Bratislava departs at 23:45. The ticket price starts from 900 UAH, and the travel time is 4-6 hours.
📍 The bus Bratislava - Luxembourg takes approximately 18 hours and costs from 2000 UAH.
- Hungary: trains №33, №31 from Mukachevo and non-stop carriage #749, #140 from Kyiv run to Budapest. Travel time is 4 hours, and tickets cost from UAH 2,500.
Budapest - Vienna - Frankfurt am Main - Luxembourg. Tickets cost from 2,000 UAH, and travel time is 14-16 hours.
📍 You can also take the bus Budapest - Luxembourg, which travels for 20 hours, with a ticket price of 2500 UAH.
- Austria: You can get to Austria by non-stop trains №749, №140 Kyiv-Vienna and Chop-Vienna. The travel time is 8-23 hours and the ticket price is about 2000 UAH.
Vienna - Frankfurt - Luxembourg. The total travel time is about 10-12 hours and the cost is about 3000 hryvnias, depending on the route, class and time of booking.

3. By bus 🚍
You can get from Kyiv or Lviv to Luxembourg by bus using regular bus services. Tickets costing from 4000 UAH are available on the companies' websites. The trip takes 40 hours, with possible delays at the border.
However, it is possible to travel by rail to European cities, and from there to Luxembourg. It will take 20 to 30 hours.
4. By car 🚗
Advantages: flexibility in choosing a route and the opportunity to visit other countries along the way.
Kyiv - Lviv - Warsaw - Berlin - Luxembourg: the most popular car route is through Lviv, then across the border with Poland to Warsaw, and from there to Berlin, then to Luxembourg. The total distance is about 1900 km.

How to travel abroad with a child in 2025?
Due to the current martial law in Ukraine, there are special rules for children traveling abroad:
- Children under 16 can travel with one parent without the notarized consent of the other.
- If a child travels with relatives or a trusted person, a written permission from one of the parents, certified by the guardianship authority, is required.
- Children over 16 years old can cross the border on their own if they have a biometric passport.
