Despite the full-scale invasion of russia, foreigners continue to come to Ukraine, both for their own business and for tourist purposes. At the same time, in 2023, the number of foreign citizens who crossed the Ukrainian border increased compared to the previous year.

Top 30 countries whose citizens most often come to Ukraine


According to official data from the Administration of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, in 2023 (from 01.01.2023 to 01.08.2023), 1,339,863 foreign citizens crossed the Ukrainian border, the vast majority of them for private purposes.


Most often, foreigners came to Ukraine from:


1. Moldova - 573,545 citizens;

2. Romania - 232,942 citizens;

3. Poland - 136,604 citizens;

4. Hungary - 72,635 citizens;

5. Slovakia - 31,393 citizens;

6. Turkey - 30,214 citizens;

7. USA - 26,267 citizens;

8. Germany - 26,227 citizens;

9. Israel - 20,333 citizens;

10. Great Britain - 16,157 citizens;

11. Czech Republic - 12,749 citizens;

12. Italy - 12,135 citizens;

13. Azerbaijan - 10,325 citizens;

14. Syria - 9,204 citizens;

15. Lithuania - 8,457 citizens;

16. Georgia - 8,154 citizens;

17. russia - 7,214 citizens;

18. France - 7,148 citizens;

19. Bulgaria - 7,014 citizens;

20. Latvia - 5,572 citizens;

21. India - 5,443 citizens;

22. Canada - 4,804 citizens;

23. The Netherlands - 4,802 citizens;

24. Armenia - 3,848 citizens;

25. Philippines - 3,586 citizens;

26. Egypt - 3,258 citizens;

27. Belarus - 3,212 citizens;

28. Sweden - 3,136 citizens;

Why do foreigners come to Ukraine?


In general, among foreign visitors to Ukraine, 1,276,212 people came for private purposes, 58,370 citizens were vehicle maintenance personnel, and 5,281 people entered the territory of Ukraine for transit purposes.

How to enter Ukraine during the war?


Ukraine's airspace remains closed to civilian aircraft, despite statements about the possible opening of the skies, and therefore it is possible to enter Ukraine only by land.


According to the SBGS administration, foreigners most often enter Ukraine through the following checkpoints: "Mohyliv-Podilskyi, Porubne, Mayaky-Udobne, Mamalyha, Shehyni, Krakivets, and Solotvyno. Visa to enter Ukraine


Currently, Ukraine has a visa-free regime with the EU, Japan, Kuwait, the USA, Uruguay, etc. Citizens of these countries have the right to stay in Ukraine for up to 90 days within a 180-day period.
